Ottawa bylaw allows up to 7 feet (approximately 2.1 metres) for a backyard fence. Front yard fences are generally limited to 1 metre. We check all bylaw requirements as part of our consultation.

Pricing varies by material and length. Chain link starts from around $40 per linear foot, PVC/vinyl from $75 per linear foot, and wood sits in between. Iron and ornamental steel are priced as premium. We provide exact itemized quotes at no charge.

PVC fencing doesn't crack, rot, or warp — even in Ottawa's extreme winters. It requires near-zero maintenance (no staining, painting, or sealing), and carries a lifetime material warranty. Over a 10–20 year period, PVC is almost always the more cost-effective choice.

We assist with permit applications where required by the City of Ottawa. Most standard residential fences do not require a permit, but we verify this during the consultation phase and handle the paperwork if needed.

Most residential fence installations are completed in 1–2 days. Larger properties or complex layouts (gates, corners, grade changes) may take an additional day. We give you a realistic timeline before work begins.
